Elaine was born and grew up in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.  She completed her Bachelor of Laws at the University of Stellenbosch in 2005. Thereafter she completed her articles at Bosman & Smit in Caledon.

She was admitted as an Attorney and Conveyancer in 2007, and was admitted as an Attorney with Right of Appearance in the High Court in 2011.

She worked as an Attorney and Conveyancer in Tygervalley after completing her articles where she attended to bond registrations and transfers on behalf of various clients.  She was also a Legal Advisor with the Independent Debt Mangement Group where she attended to various debt review matters and other legal work.

Thereafter she attended the University of Stellenbosch and completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning in 2011. She attended the University of Cape Town, Graduate School of Business and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Property Development in 2012.

Elaine joined Smuts Kemp & Smal in 2011 as an Attorney and Conveyancer attending to all Nedbank related conveyancing matters. The company underwent a name change to Kemp & Associates where she heads up the Conveyancing Department.

Elaine was granted her Real Estate NQF 4 and 5 by the Iselesele Property Academy in 2011 and is registered as an Estate Agent at the Estate Agency Affairs Board.
